Laboratory Environments
Lab work is hard on the people who do it — hours of precise, repetitive work at the bench, often standing, around chemicals and sensitive equipment. We spec the lab around the person: ergonomic seating that prevents strain, casework that cuts the reaching, and the safety equipment that keeps people protected.
A lab runs on its people, and the work is unforgiving on the body — long hours of focused, repetitive precision at the bench, much of it standing or perched, in a room that can also be hazardous. Our lens is the person in the chair. We spec ergonomic seating that supports a healthy posture through a full shift and heads off the strain injuries that quietly cost labs their most skilled technicians — then equip the room to keep those people safe: chemical-resistant, cleanroom- and ESD-rated surfaces, and fume capture and chemical containment. Furnish it for the work; spec it for the people. Here’s how, and the products we’d start from.
What this room needs.
Seating that protects the body.
Hours of precise, often standing bench work punish the back, neck, and shoulders. Ergonomic lab chairs and stools — bench-height, foot-ring, real posture support — head off the strain injuries that cost labs their skilled techs, and still wipe clean and come cleanroom- or ESD-rated.
Within reach — by design.
Lab strain rarely comes from one heavy lift — it’s the thousand small reaches for a reagent, a pipette, a log, all shift long. We place and height-set casework so the tools and samples a task actually needs sit inside the neutral reach zone, and the scientist keeps posture and focus instead of twisting away from the work every minute. Modular, too — reconfigured as the protocol changes, without rebuilding the room.
Rated to the room.
Chemical-resistant surfaces throughout, cleanroom particulate control to your ISO class, and ESD static-dissipative construction where sensitive work demands it — specified, not guessed at.
Safe from chemicals and air.
Fume capture, filtered chemical storage, and containment for hazardous materials — employee-safety equipment that protects the people in the room and keeps it compliant, right alongside the furniture.

Speccing a lab or cleanroom?
Tell us the room — wet lab, cleanroom class, or ESD bench — and how the work is done, and we’ll point you to the exact rated seating and get the details right.
A lab chair is a piece of lab equipment.
In a lab the seat is spec’d to the work, not chosen for comfort alone. Start with the material: polyurethane, vinyl, or self-skinned poly that wipes down and shrugs off reagents — never fabric that soaks up a spill. Add a bench-height range and foot ring for standing-height benches. Then match the room:
Sealed, non-shedding, non-outgassing construction certified to your ISO class — no exposed foam, cleanroom-wipeable. Particulate-rated seating is Biofit and Cramer.
Static-dissipative or conductive materials with a grounding path (casters/glides) — for electronics assembly and sensitive instruments. Options from GK Chairs, Cramer, and Biofit; Bimos likely (US stock to confirm).
The rule: match the seat to the room’s requirement — cleanable for a wet lab, particulate-rated for a cleanroom, static-safe for ESD — and don’t over- or under-spec. Tell us the room and we’ll point you to the exact rated chair.
