Calibrate Community

Refined spine-driven desking — panel-free, with deep stack-on storage along the spine and power built into the run.

Description Gallery Finishes Downloads

Overview

Calibrate Community opens the floor without panels: a spine carries power and storage down the run, and desks hang off it. Here’s how it works, and where it fits.

Spine open-plan desking

Calibrate Community is open-plan Desking — the paradigm for teams that want an open, collaborative floor. It’s built around a central spine (non-powered, single- or double-sided powered, or Chicago-powered) that carries power down the run, with desks and surfaces cantilevered off it. Its signature is deep spine stack-on storage — hutches, spine cabinets and bookcases — that adds function overhead, up and out of the way, plus floor storage and pedestals below. Clean laminate surfaces and well-resolved detailing keep it simple, modern, and clearly considered.

Why we believe in this

Calibrate Community is where AIS’s design and engineering refinement of recent years shows most — the spine, storage and surfaces are resolved with a care that reads at a glance. It’s our answer when a floor wants to feel open and connected but still needs somewhere to put things: the spine keeps power tidy and continuous, and the deep stack-on storage means a team can stay organized without a wall of cabinets closing in the floor. Where a little separation or quiet helps, we add screens or acoustic elements at the seats that need them.

Our take

So here’s when we’d specify Calibrate Community — and when we’d point you elsewhere.

We believe in it, which is exactly why we’ll be straight about fit. The honest version:

Specify it when

  • You want an open floor without panels — a spine carries power and storage down the run.
  • Desks that hang off a shared spine suit the team.
  • You want a clean, collaborative open plan.
  • You value a manufacturer that shares our standards and backs us up when a project needs it.

Consider something else when

  • Teams need real enclosure and acoustic privacy — a panel system fits better.
  • You want maximum shoulder-to-shoulder density — benching goes further.
  • The plan will reconfigure constantly — an agile beam reconfigures faster.
  • You want a warmer, more residential desking feel.
Where we land: Calibrate Community opens the floor without panels — a spine carries power and storage, and desks hang off it. When the space needs enclosure, density, or constant reconfiguration, we’ll point you to a better-fit paradigm.
