Stad
A raised platform that’s actually beautiful — power and data tuck underneath, and everything on top rearranges freely.
Overview
Stad reimagines agile as a raised platform: utilities disappear underneath, and the whole top rearranges without looking like infrastructure. Here’s how it works, and where it fits.
Stad reconfigures freely — done a uniquely pretty way. Instead of a beam, it’s a raised platform that carries power and data underneath, while work surfaces, storage modules, screens and raceways sit on top and re-organize freely. Platforms come in several sizes, it takes electric height-adjustable tables for sit-stand within the agile zone, and screens tune privacy by design. Its name is Dutch for “city” — the office as a city of mixed work and rest zones.

Stad is what we reach for when a client wants the flexibility of agile without the exposed-infrastructure look. Hiding power and data under the platform means the top can be reshaped again and again — surfaces, storage, sit-stand tables, screens — while the floor still reads as a warm, considered environment. It’s the welcoming, “office-as-a-city” way to do agile.
So here’s when we’d specify Stad — and when we’d point you elsewhere.
Specify it when
- You want agile reconfiguration done beautifully — not looking like infrastructure.
- Utilities should disappear under a raised platform.
- A top that rearranges freely suits a changing floor.
- You value a manufacturer that shares our standards and backs us up when a project needs it.
Consider something else when
- You want a conventional beam at the lowest cost — a standard agile beam is simpler.
- Teams need real enclosure and acoustic privacy — a panel system fits better.
- You want maximum open density — benching goes further.
- You want a warmer, residential feel — a desking system gets there more easily.
