Xtension
A space-saving hybrid of desking and panels — full-to-the-floor 1″ laminate panels, simple construction, and clean integrated power.
Overview
Xtension is Artopex’s hybrid of desking and panels — freestanding desks joined by full-to-the-floor 1″ laminate panels that divide the space. Simple, space-efficient and value-priced. Here’s how it works, and where it fits.
Xtension is a hybrid of desking and panels — workstations built around full-to-the-floor laminate panels, just 1″ thick, that divide open-plan space. Because the panels are thin and simply built, they save floor space and cost less than a conventional frame-and-tile system, while integrated power and cable management keep runs tidy. One tradeoff to plan for: the laminate panels don’t absorb sound, so rooms using Xtension will usually want separate acoustic treatment. Originally a Logiflex line, it’s now part of the Artopex brand.

Xtension is a smart value play for open floors that need real division without the bulk or cost of a full panel system — the 1″ laminate panels save both floor space and money, and it reads clean and finished. Just plan the acoustics separately, since the panels don’t absorb sound. For the right project, it’s a lot of dividing power for the money.
So here’s when we’d specify Xtension — and when we’d point you elsewhere.
Specify it when
- You want a simple, space-efficient hybrid — freestanding desks joined by full-height 1″ laminate panels.
- You want a light divide without a full panel system.
- You want it value-priced, quick and economical.
- You value a manufacturer that shares our standards and backs us up when a project needs it.
Consider something else when
- You need real acoustic privacy and enclosure — a full panel system fits better.
- You want heavy power and data integration.
- You want a premium look.
- You want maximum shoulder-to-shoulder density — benching goes further.

- Integrated power & cable management — routed cleanly through the system.
- Plan acoustics separately — the laminate panels don’t absorb sound, so add room acoustic treatment.
