Markets · Government, Civic & Military
Public spaces, built to serve and to last.
Durable, well-considered environments that support public-facing spaces and staff-support areas with long-term performance.
Start a civic projectCivic spaces carry two jobs at once: serve the public with clarity and dignity, and support the staff who keep government, agencies, and military operations running — all under heavy daily use, accessibility and code requirements, and public-budget accountability. We’ve delivered large public projects, and we plan and furnish government, civic, and military interiors that perform for the long haul.
One office or a whole building — you’re the right size.
From a single department refresh to multiple floors, you get the same expertise and the same manufacturer access. No project is too small to do well.
Durable, accessible, accountable.
Public-facing and staff spaces
Lobbies, service counters, and waiting areas that welcome the public — and the offices, workstations, and meeting rooms behind them that keep the work moving.
Accessible & code-compliant
Selections that meet accessibility (ADA) and public-building requirements, documented for your facilities team and review process.
Whole-building scope
From a single department to multiple floors — we coordinate large, phased projects, and in our home market can take them from design through construction.
Built for public use & budgets
Durable specification that survives heavy public traffic, planned to public budgets and contract schedules (GSA and other government and military vehicles), with the documentation procurement requires.
Many government and military projects come with strict labor requirements. We can field installation crews with the security clearances secure facilities demand, and we meet union and prevailing-wage (Davis-Bacon) requirements where projects call for them — keeping the work on schedule and in compliance.
From the lobby to the back office.
Public Lobbies & Service Counters
Welcoming, durable, accessible public-facing spaces and transaction counters that handle constant traffic.
Offices & Workstations
Ergonomic, durable workstations and offices for the staff who keep public services running.
Meeting & Council Rooms
Conference and public-meeting spaces with the tables, seating, and acoustics that civic work requires.
Waiting & Reception
Comfortable, cleanable seating for the public, built for heavy and varied use.
Records, Storage & Support
Filing, storage, and back-of-house support that keep operations organized.
Large public projects, delivered.
Proven at scale
We designed and refurnished about a quarter of the Cook County government building in downtown Chicago — for the County Treasurer and County Assessor — coordinating work in a major, occupied public facility.
Adaptive reuse
Working under general contractor A.L.L. Masonry Construction Co. and with Koo Architects, we helped convert the abandoned Pope School into a working satellite headquarters for the Chicago Housing Authority — turning a vacant building into functional civic space.
A trusted project-team partner
In the historic Martin Luther King Jr. Federal Building in Atlanta, we were brought in by the general contractor (Sauer) and worked closely with the architects (Stantec) to furnish multiple floors for a federal (HUD) end user — demonstrating how we plug into a GC-led team, even out of market.
Any size, same care
One department or a whole building — we scale to the project, and the smallest gets the same expertise and attention as the largest.
