Enclosed pods and booths bring a real room to the open floor — a private call, a focused hour, a small meeting — without construction, and they move when the floor does. From a single phone booth to a six-person meeting room.
From a single sit-stand desk to a fully integrated private office, the desk is personal infrastructure. We specify height-adjustable bases, executive casegoods, and reception stations — chosen as the best product for the job, not the cheapest base on the marketplace.
Questions, answered.
About Privacy Pods
What’s the difference between a pod and a pavilion?
A pod is enclosed — four sides and a door for a call or a heads-down hour. A pavilion is open — a defined structure that gives a zone identity without cutting it off. Both carve real settings out of the open plan without construction.
Do pods need power and ventilation?
Yes. We plan power, lighting, and airflow into where a pod goes — the good ones ventilate and light automatically, but placement still has to agree with the floor and the building.
Can a pod move when the floor changes?
That’s the point. Pods are freestanding and reconfigurable, so you add enclosure where the budget or schedule won’t allow built rooms — and relocate them when teams shift.
One person or a whole team?
Sized across the range — from a single-person phone booth to a six-person meeting room. We size and place them to how often your teams actually reach for them.
Working with Applied Ergonomics
What types of projects does Applied Ergonomics work on?
We work on projects of all sizes, from single-office setups to multi-floor corporate buildouts. Our services span workspace strategy, interior design, furniture specification, procurement, project management, and installation across healthcare, education, corporate, industrial, and hospitality environments.
How does the consultation process work?
We start with a conversation to understand your goals, challenges, and timeline. From there we develop a tailored approach that may include space planning, product recommendations, and a detailed proposal. There’s no obligation, and we’re happy to answer questions at any stage.
Do you work with architects and interior designers?
Absolutely. We regularly partner with architects and interior designers as a technical and execution resource, translating design intent into specific, high-performing solutions.
What geographic areas do you serve?
We serve clients nationally. While we’re headquartered in the Chicago area, our project management and installation capabilities extend across the United States.
Do you support ongoing facility needs after a project is complete?
Yes. We remain a consistent point of contact beyond project closeout—handling warranty coordination, reconfigurations, internal moves, modular system relocation and reuse, redesigns, and more. Our goal is continuity, not re-procurement.
