Edison
A power-and-data rail that bends to the room — straight runs that angle at the joining posts, not locked to 90 or 120 degrees.
Overview
Edison does what rigid beams can’t: its power-and-data rail literally bends, so agile runs flow in organic shapes. Here’s how it works, and where it shines.
Edison is a power-and-data beam & rail system — power and data live in the rail and workstations attach along it, no panels required. What sets it apart is that the rail bends: each segment is straight, but the joining posts angle the run freely rather than snapping to fixed 90- or 120-degree connectors, so a run can turn around a column or shape an open zone. It powers the desks — fixed-height or height-adjustable (rectangular or super-ellipse tops) — and carries design-forward touches like planters and continuous privacy screens. And because workstations mirror, flip, rotate and reconfigure easily along it, the floor stays agile as teams change. When a floor wants a rail that turns with the architecture, Edison is built for it.

Edison is our answer when a run shouldn’t look like a grid. Because the rail bends at its posts, we can angle it around a column, turn it through a lounge, or cluster benches into distinct zones — with fixed-height or sit-stand tops as the space needs. The refined planters and screens make it feel designed, not industrial. It’s the most expressive way to run power and data across a floor.
So here’s when we’d specify Edison — and when we’d point you elsewhere.
Specify it when
- The run should curve around columns or shape an open zone — not sit on a rigid grid.
- You want power and data carried in the rail, with no panels required.
- Height-adjustable benches and design-forward touches (planters, screens) matter.
- The floor keeps changing and workstations need to mirror, flip and reconfigure.
- You value a manufacturer that shares our standards and backs us up when a project needs it.
Consider something else when
- You just need straight, lowest-cost runs — a rigid beam is simpler.
- Teams need real enclosure and acoustic privacy — a panel system fits better.
- You want maximum density and daylight — benching opens the plan up.
- You want a warmer, residential feel — a desking system gets there more easily.

- Mirror, flip and reconfigure as teams change.
Configurations & construction
- Bends at the posts — straight rail segments that angle at the joining posts, not locked to 90 or 120 degrees.
- Turns with the room — angle a run around a column or shape an open zone.
- Powers the desks — feeds power and data to fixed-height or height-adjustable benches along the run (rectangular or super-ellipse tops).
- Power & data in the rail — infeed at the starter, jumpers between, tidy and continuous.
- Two rail sizes — Junior and Senior scale to the run.
- Design-forward touches — planters and continuous privacy screens for a refined look.
- Deeply customizable — a broad palette of laminates, powdercoat paint colors, fabrics and edges to match the space.
- Built for agile workspaces — mirror, flip, rotate and reconfigure workstations easily as teams change.

Surfaces — the full Watson palette
Worksurface laminates come in three tiers — Standard, Craft, and Fenix NTM (premium anti-fingerprint) — plus Forbo Linoleum desktops. Metal is finished in powdercoat (29 colors), with PET acoustic and graded fabrics (Camira Rivet & Synergy 66, Duvaltex Gather). We’ll help you specify the exact combination; individual swatches are being added.
Edges, pulls & details
Watson’s detailing is unusually broad — part of why these desks feel considered. Edge profiles: 90, Knife, Ply, and Round Under, in laminate-matching colors and Charcoal or Natural stains. Pulls: Alto, Bar, Cove, Jota (black or silver), Miro, and Tab (black or silver). Acrylic: Clear or Frosted. Legs are offered in the powdercoat palette. Swatch images for these are being added.
