Carpet tile lets a floor do more than one job. Patterns mark out where people gather and where they focus, color carries the design from wall to floor, and a worn or stained area is fixed by replacing a few tiles instead of a whole room. We specify it with the furniture and finishes above it, then supply and install it, so the floor arrives as part of one plan rather than as a separate trade.

How to spec it
What this decision turns on.
Where the traffic really goes
Entrances, main corridors and the paths to the coffee point take far more wear than a private office. We match the construction to the path, not to the average.
Pattern and zoning
Pattern and color can separate a focus area from a gathering space without a wall. Decide the zones with the furniture plan, not after it.
Spare tiles for later
Tiles from the same production run match best. Keeping a small stock on site means a future repair looks like the original floor.
Sequence with everything else
Flooring, cabling and furniture installation share the same days on site. Planning them together keeps an occupied floor working while it changes.

Planning a floor with the furniture?
Send us the plan and how the space is used. We will specify the carpet, then supply and install it on the same schedule as the rest.
Carpet tile wins for most commercial floors — you replace a stained or worn tile instead of a whole area, and patterns can zone the space. We spec broadloom only where a seamless look is the priority.
Do you install the carpet, or just specify it?
Both. We supply and install the flooring we specify, and schedule it with the furniture installation so the space is planned and delivered as one project.
Why keep spare tiles?
Tiles from the same production run match best. A small stock kept on site means a future repair blends in with the floor around it.
Working with Applied Ergonomics
What types of projects does Applied Ergonomics work on?
We work on projects of all sizes, from single-office setups to multi-floor corporate buildouts. Our services span workspace strategy, interior design, furniture specification, procurement, project management, and installation across healthcare, education, corporate, industrial, and hospitality environments.
How does the consultation process work?
We start with a conversation to understand your goals, challenges, and timeline. From there we develop a tailored approach that may include space planning, product recommendations, and a detailed proposal. There’s no obligation, and we’re happy to answer questions at any stage.
Do you work with architects and interior designers?
Absolutely. We regularly partner with architects and interior designers as a technical and execution resource, translating design intent into specific, high-performing solutions.
What geographic areas do you serve?
We serve clients nationally. While we’re headquartered in the Chicago area, our project management and installation capabilities extend across the United States.
Do you support ongoing facility needs after a project is complete?
Yes. We remain a consistent point of contact beyond project closeout—handling warranty coordination, reconfigurations, internal moves, modular system relocation and reuse, redesigns, and more. Our goal is continuity, not re-procurement.
