Sheet & Specialty

Floors for the rooms where cleanliness and control come first — exam rooms, labs and technical spaces — specified with the casework and supplied and installed by us.

Some rooms ask more of a floor than looking good. In an exam room, a lab or a controlled space, fewer seams mean fewer places for dirt and moisture to settle, and the floor has to stand up to the cleaning those rooms need. Sheet flooring and specialty products are chosen for that job. We specify them alongside the casework and seating in the room, then supply and install them.

How to spec it

What this decision turns on.

What the room is for

An exam room, a lab and a controlled space each have their own cleaning and performance needs. The room's use drives the product, not the other way round.

Seams and edges

Seams, wall transitions and edges are where a floor fails first in a room that is cleaned hard. They are detailed as part of the specification.

Cleaning routine

The chemicals and methods a facility actually uses matter. A floor chosen without knowing them can wear or discolor early.

Coordination with casework

Modular casework and equipment sit on this floor. Sequencing the two together avoids working around cabinets later.

About Sheet & Specialty

Why sheet flooring in healthcare and labs?
Fewer seams mean fewer places for dirt and moisture to collect, which makes rooms that are cleaned often easier to keep clean.
Do you coordinate the floor with the casework?
Yes. We specify the flooring alongside the modular casework and seating in the room, and schedule the installation together.

Working with Applied Ergonomics

What types of projects does Applied Ergonomics work on?
We work on projects of all sizes, from single-office setups to multi-floor corporate buildouts. Our services span workspace strategy, interior design, furniture specification, procurement, project management, and installation across healthcare, education, corporate, industrial, and hospitality environments.
How does the consultation process work?
We start with a conversation to understand your goals, challenges, and timeline. From there we develop a tailored approach that may include space planning, product recommendations, and a detailed proposal. There’s no obligation, and we’re happy to answer questions at any stage.
Do you work with architects and interior designers?
Absolutely. We regularly partner with architects and interior designers as a technical and execution resource, translating design intent into specific, high-performing solutions.
What geographic areas do you serve?
We serve clients nationally. While we’re headquartered in the Chicago area, our project management and installation capabilities extend across the United States.
Do you support ongoing facility needs after a project is complete?
Yes. We remain a consistent point of contact beyond project closeout—handling warranty coordination, reconfigurations, internal moves, modular system relocation and reuse, redesigns, and more. Our goal is continuity, not re-procurement.
